  18. When you use a Hewlett-Packard (HP) Jetstor 2000 with an Adaptec 2742 SCSI
  19. adapter and use Windows NTÆs Backup program, one of the following error
  20. messages may appear:
  21.  
  22.    Fatal Translation Error on Drive 1
  23.  
  24. -or-
  25.  
  26.    A tape device has been detected, and the tape driver started. However,
  27.    the tape device is not responding. Check that tape device power is on
  28.    and cables are properly connected.

  30. RESOLUTION

  33. According to HP Technical Support, you need a special terminator for the HP
  34. Jetstor 2000 tape drive. This part can be ordered from HPÆs Service and
  35. Parts Center at (800) 227-8164. The part is called Active Slick Terminator,
  36. and the part number is 1252-5634.
